With the debt snowball method, you pay off your debts in order from smallest (lowest balance owing) to largest (highest balance owing).

With the debt avalanche method, you pay off your debts in the order of the interest rate from highest (highest interest rate) to lowest (lowest interest rate).

You'll pick a monthly snowball amount, which is the amount you will pay off your debt each month, on top of the minimum payments.

Once each debt is paid off, you will roll its payment into the next debt- paying it off even faster.
